The sleigh’s runners have an A-Z book of the world to assist Santa in his work. On the back is a license plate with “NP” for North Pole and a snowball taillight. The reindeer under the sleigh is playing with a glove puppet, just as Peter did when he was a bored porcelain painter. “Evendine” and “80” refer to the local girls’ school where his old girlfriend, Zoe Bain, attended in 1980. Doveridge House, Tong, is where she used to live. “Do not copy” is Peter’s response to seeing illegal copies of his box figurines in South Africa. One mouse peeks out of Santa’s sack and another is tucked into his right elbow. Inside are the HBC logo, a bottle of rum, and a mince pie. Hallmarks include apple, clock face with month 11, HBC logo, and Pc.
