Vintage Royal Doulton Lalla Rookh Figurine: Ships Figureheads Series HN 2910

Selling this beautiful hand made and hand decorated Royal Doulton Ships Figureheads Series HN 2910 "Lalla Rookh" Limited edition figurine numbered 278/950. This piece depicts a regal lady in royal clothing that served as the masthead of a China Tea Clipper in the period 1856-1873. This rare piece is well done and the figurine has no damage as shown in the pictures. The bottom has the Royal Doulton Logo and a set of four numbers as shown in the pictures as well as the Limited Edition number.

The name Lalla Rookh actually means Tulip Cheek in hindi. She was the exotic, fictional daughter of the last great Mugul Emperor of India during the 1600s. The romantic story about Lalla Rookh describes how she fell in love with a poet who she thought was a commoner, only to find out that he was actually a sultan. Her story ends happily when they are betrothed.

I ship via USPS within three business days of purchase. This item measures 9 inches tall by 3 3/8 inches wide by 5 1/4 inches deep and weighs 15 ounces without packaging. We package these items very carefully by double boxing them with the outer box being a heavy duty shipping box. Inside they are wrapped in acid free paper to ensure no color reaction with any of the interior packaging materials.
